Slow service even though there were only 2 tables the regulars got the majority of the Waitresses attention. A quick" is your meal ok ?"as she went back to the favoured table. She was gone before I could tell her that our steaks were so tough as to be inedible and the ribs were dried out. Cole slaw had gone off . here's a hint when cabbage turns brown it should no longer be served. Please stop calling the dried out fried cornbread abomination hushpuppies real hushpuppies are delicious. I always try to point out the good points when I think of one I'll edit this review
The food is good, although the portions for sides seems very small especially at the price charged for extras. The brisket and ribs were good as was the coleslaw. Green beans are great, don't miss them. Wasn't in love with the potato salad. Also, no collard greens on menu. Gotta have collards for an authentic southern BBQ experience.The decor is nice and new, but likely is a holdover from when this was a Chinese restaurant. Not a problem, but it doesn't completely suit the brisket and blues vibe that this place is probably aiming for. Service was up and down. Overly attentive when we were obviously still going through the menu, and then not enough attention when we both ran out of water.
Great place for the price. It's a total ma and pop shop and I believe if they had more advertising then they would have way more customers, because you cannot find smoked food this good anywhere else in lethbridge. The briscut is wonderful.
pros: great brisket, smoked chicken was delicious, the sausage is awesome. cons: pulled pork wasn't pulled and had to be cut with a knife (needs more cooking time) --Potato salad was awful (oily par cooked potato with sauteed mushrooms) that's not potato salad -- coleslaw was so average, not worth ordering as a side -- The restaurant was clean on the surface but the tables have this plasticky laminate that your arms stick to. This place could use a serious renovation. I came in before 6 on a Saturday and saw staff lingering at the bar and no customer in the house, my first impression was this place may not be that good. Service was friendly but I didn't feel there was much knowledge about the product. My server had to come back a couple of times to clarify what I had ordered and when asked if I wanted my ribs wet or dry I said wet and was served dry-rubbed ribs. I ordered the big platter for two had a beer and my wife how to pop our bill came to $80. The value is not quite there but not far off. I would try this again to see if I had a better experience.
Our third visit and first since they changed locations. It is still such a wonderful place to satisfy a meat craving! The staff is personable and makes you feel like home. This is our "must visit" place in Lethbridge
